A lifesaver for Corrie St fans
Quite by accident I discovered that Amazon Instant Video is offering each episode of Coronation Street from the last five years--a lifesaver for US fans of the series that have no other access to it. (It isn't shown on US outlet, unlike EastEnders, which is holding on in a few places.) The series has a fabled past--it celebrated its 50th jubilee--in 2010 and a cast of characters like no other. Also, and this is not a minor note, it can be genuinely funny, unlike so many exported Brit dramas, which lay on the grim. Particularly tonic in the Oct-Nov 2012 episodes is Nigel Havers, playing a middle-aged rogue and swindler of great charm and hair. I hope Amazon Instant Video keeps Corrie on its menu because I intend to keep following.
